KP to Hire 1,300 New Teachers

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) training branch has determined to rent 1,300 teachers for its number one, middle, and high schools across the province. The teachers will be employed on one-12 months contracts thru the parent-teacher council (PCT) – a body consisting of the management of the college, the mother and father of the scholars enrolled, and local elders.


Dawn.com pronounced quoting training branch officers that an amount of Rs. 200 million could be spent on hiring teachers for primary schools and the remaining amount for middle and higher schools across the province. The director of the simple and secondary education branch, Hafiz Ibrahim, stated that Rs. 20,000 salaries could be paid to the lecturers of primary schools, Rs. 25,000 to the lecturers of middle schools and Rs. 30,000 to the lecturers of high schools.

To a query that Rs. 20,000 income for primary teachers is much less than the minimum salary for the unskilled labor, he stated that the amount was accredited some months earlier when the minimal salary turned into Rs. 17,500. He brought that the salaries of the number one school teachers will be revised earlier than hiring them.

The director also noted that the branch targets to rent 1,200 information technology teachers and heads of statistics generation laboratories thru PTC for 600 IT labs which are being constructed at various schools with a value of Rs. 2 billion.
